Overview
The World Missions Team promotes a year-round emphasis on missions!
One of our major responsibilities is to sponsor the World Missions Emphasis during the month of November. Events we sponsor during this month include:
- Parade of Flags (click for details)
- Promote the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP - click for information)
- Organize Missions Celebration service and Mission Fair
- Sunday School Department - Mission Meals
- Mission Speakers for Sundays and Wednesdays
- Prayer Guide (booklet and electronic versions - see archived guides here)
- Arrange for mission videos before and during Sunday services
- Publicity
- Missions Bulletin Board
- Select theme, Scripture, graphics for year
- Other promotional ideas
- T-shirts
- kid's offering globes
A second major responsibility is to promote the World Missions Offering (click for details). Our goal for 2006-2007 is $440,000, and we have given over $4.8 million to missions through this offering since 1981.
An ongoing responsibility is maintaining the FBCAMissions.org website.
In addition, the team promotes overall missions ministries of FBCA throughout the year through educational, prayer, and informational activities. These have included prayer emphases, mission studies, and mission fairs.
