Talamanca, Costa Rica
Clinics will serve the Cabécar Indian community. The goal is to provide a context for evangelism through medical/dental care and to help strengthen the indigenous church. Construction iwll continue on the temple in Alto Jubäi.
Language:
Spanish helpful.
Accommodations/ Conditions:
Hiking. Tent camping required.
Personnel Needed:
physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, dental assistants, dental hygienists, children's workers, evangelists, general workers.
Special Requirements:
U.S. Passport, Hepatitis A/B vaccine.

Juarez Valley, Mexico
VBS/Backyard Bible Club at two mission points - Loma Blanca and a large housing division called Riveras del Bravo. Morning program (M-Th) & afternoon program (M-Fri). Many places for non-Spanish speakers.
Language: Spanish useful
Accommodations/ Conditions: Team will sleep in a church dormitory setting. Temperatures at VBS and construction sites will be hot.
Personnel Needed: Teenagers & adults to serve as teachers, teaching assistants, evangelism/outreach workers, site preparation workers, general workers, music leaders, translators, and bilingual speakers. Also need a drama writer, drama coordinator, music leaders (Spanish), and drivers over age 24 with experience in pulling a large trailer.
Special Requirements:
Volunteers must be at least 13 yrs. Ages 13-15 must be accompanied by a parent. Good physical condition; high heat tolerance; U.S. Passport; preparation/orientation meetings.

Join a local Hispanic congregation in ministering to its poor farming community, 400 miles to the interior of Mexico. Ministry will include major construction projects, VBS, evangelistic services, door to door visits, personal evangelism, church vehicle repairs, haircuts for children and puppet ministry. Hotel accommodations are available.
Language: Spanish NOT required.
Accommodations/ Conditions: Staying in a local 3 or 4 star hotel. Your person cost may vary if you do not room with someone else.
Personnel Needed: Auto mechanics, carpentry, construction, haircutting, VBS workers, evangelists, general workers, non-Spanish speakers and bilingual speakers.

Participate in ministry through music, work at an orphanage, sing at prisons, and community service projects.
Details:
We need singers, instrumentalists, children's workers, drivers, translators, and painters. We will finish painting the church offices at Prince of Peace Baptist Church, run a morning camp for kids in the community near the church, have a small team that ministers in the prisons, and perform two concerts to help raise money to finish the floor and air conditioning in the sanctuary of the church. We have also had a specific request for mural painting. Travel with a team to remote areas, surveying and mapping Fulani villages for the purpose of relationship building and future work. Allow isolated Fulani to hear the Word in their own language through mp3 distribution and Bible storying through a translator.

Special Requirements: U.S. Passport, visa, Yellow Fever vaccination (other vaccinations recommended), oral malaria preventive, ground-sleeping required.

Conversational English and other classes.
Details:
Please join us for International Friends every Wednesday morning from 8:45 to 11:00 during the Arlington ISD school year. Classes meet in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church, Arlington located at 300 S. Center street in downtown Arlington. Childcare during classes is provided for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. Classes begin with a variety of arts, crafts and cooking. Refreshments and a brief assembly follow. Conversational English classes are then taught on all levels.
Language: Teaching English as a Second Language to people of all languages!

The November World Mission Emphasis kicks off our year-long offering in support of missions worldwide.  This year's World Mission Offering goal is $440,000!

The Home Team provides "at home" support for the Global Mission Ministry of FBCA.
Details:

Support is provided in the following areas:

  • repair and maintenance of medical/dental equipment
  • inventory
  • organizing and packing of medical clinic supplies
  • shipping
  • loading
  • maintenance of mission pharmacy
  • ordering and preparing children's educational supplies
  • ordering and preparing adult evangelism materials

The most important Home Team ministry is the ministry of prayer for all teams and projects.
